Sal Maicki: Taking on the Big Apple

May 7, 2013

It’s a Monday morning, and Salvatore Maicki is strolling into Saugatuck High School. In his right hand, a hot beverage from Uncommon Grounds releases the smell of fresh coffee grounds, and an ear bud dangles from his left ear as soft beats of music pitter-patter to match his strides. A multi-colored baseball cap sits perched on his subtly cool bed head. Third trimester of senior year for Sal has been as breeze; however, in the previous years Sal has consumed himself with extra curriculars and challenging course work. He has...

Saugatuck has left out Tennis

April 26, 2013

By BRIANA LAVERY Everyday, after the rush of the school day has ended, many students look out of foggy, bus windows. They see a variety of students outside for practice. Many of these athletes are running on the track, pitching on the baseball field, and kicking on the soccer field. If they were to glance at the tennis court, they’d see that it was empty, abandoned, yet pristine. Although, Saugatuck High School does offer a class of sports, there are students at the school who would like to see other sports available. Baye...
